Default Splash Guard installation?

Has anyone installed their own splash guards? I am particularly interested in the front splash guards. Do they require any special tools other than screwdriver and drill?

Default The instructions that came with the front splash guards have no words....

just pictures. One of the pictues looks like they are using some sort of riveting tool to make a hole an secure a bracket to. Did you have to do that?

Did you perform the actual install yourself? If so, do you have any pics of the install?

Default I've put the official Audi parts on my A8...

That tool they are picturing is a screwdriver. It means you have to pre screw the self tapping screw into the car. Then remove the screw. Place the mud guard in the right place and drive the screw into the hole you have made. You will need to remove all the wheels to put the guards on and after all the lifing off and on and driving screws in you will have sore arms.

Default The instructions do have a portion that looks as you described, but....

they are also using a different tool that looks similar to a stapler or nail gun. They also have pics of something that resembles a chisle in addition to what looks like an ice pick/screw driver. There are also pics of 2 different spray cans that they show being used when affixing the bracket to the car.

I also installed all 4 splash guards on my A4 but those install instructions only required an ice pick/screw driver for install... nothing like the front install for the Q. There rear install on the Q is pretty strait forward.

Default I am guessing...

I think the tool they mean is something to poke a starting hole in the trim on the inside of the wheel arch, similar to what you would do if drilling into something. The spray cans either represent spray glue for a tight fit, or a cleaner of some sort to ensure a clean surface. Best of luck.
