Starting problem

VAG-COM is a bit more useful to Americans
We get more of the stuff they use VAG-COM to turn on, which just shows that we are the ones being ripped off when they say we have higher spec cars.
Apart from that you can use it to search for or look at fault codes. Again this is fine if you actually want to see that stuff instead of buggin your dealer.
Its just the modern electronic version of popping the bonnet and looking at "stuff". As the car systems are computer controlled it is effectively letting you see the screen and use the keyboard (certain things must be hooked up to Audi AG). That is grreat if you know what you are looking at or actually want to change something.
I generally leave my lights on automatic and my MMI setting courtesy lights on at 15/30 seconds Summer/Winter.
That way the car turns them off and no risk of flat battery.
It also means the car turns them off quicker or does not allow them to come on with unlock when battery is low.

Re: Starting problem, update
We travelled to the coast, when we arrived the car was left parked for at least a week at a time between starts. Each time one or two turns and the car started no problem.
Then travelled back home which is about 5000 feet above sea level and the problem is back ie. if the car is parked for 18 or more hours the engine turns for what seems an eternity before it starts.
So it cant be battery discharge related but could have something to do with the thin air up at this altitude?
Anyone living at these kinds of altitudes having the same issues with their Q7?

Just bumping this up as we keep getting flat battery...reluctant to buy a new battery as the car has always 'laboured' on early morning starts...any ideas?
Just changed suspension settings from 'Automatic' to 'Comfort' because the suspension has been lowering or raising by itself when the car was locked and Adv key a good 10mtrs away in the house. I suspect 'Automatic' settings on suspension may be causing the car to keep lowering and raisng the suspension periodically - even when locked and Adv keys are 10mtrs away...very odd.
Still luv it as a family wagon...best out there still IMO...we recently looked at changing to GL or RR and the 4-yr Q7 was still hard to beat...go figure!
