Default UPDATE -- Load bar length **is** limited to 127cm

I exchanged a couple of emails with Keith at roofrackshop.com regarding the feasibility of using longer rapid rail bars and here was his reply (posted with his permission):

"Only the bar length specified for your vehicle within our application guide, is compatible.

The 4902 feet slide into the inner section of the bar, via cut out sections on the underside of the bars at each end. As the cut out section only extends inwards approx 6" from the end of the bar, a longer bar would not allow the feet to slide in far enough to be positioned correctly on the roof.

All Thule rapid systems work in the same way, but Thule traditional foot packs (which are not available for the Q7) do allow the use of longer bars, as the feet slide over the bar, rather than into it.

Regards
Keith"

Default I stumbled upon that internet company...

ordered a rack myself, posted the pictures and the link and now they've ended up with loads of business. I bet they're overjoyed.

Default I noticed that there are no "off road" style wheel arches..did you request it that way?

It looks good without the arches.
I thought that the off road package was supposed to come with running boards as well.

It came that way off the lot. I don't think the
US offroad package comes with the wheel arch cladding.

Default

I wish they told us that when we placed the order. I really like the way the skid plates look.
