I plan on buying the Audi cross bars for the Q7 roof rails. I wonder if I can fit my current Thule box to the Audi cross bars or will I have to buy this:

http://www.audipartssuperstore.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=282</a

I recently solved the bike rack issue by using a rockymount bicycle carrier with the oversize bolt kit.
I have not tried it yet, but I bet with oversize bolts my Thule box should work also.
The cross bars are absurdly thick and definetly not standard for Yakima or Thule.

I'm about 4 or 5 weeks away from getting delivery of my Q7 and am thinking about the roof cross rails. (About the only thing I expect to use them for is carrying home my Christmas tree each year!!!) I'm surprised to hear that it seems like you have to buy them rather than they being a part of the vehicle. My brother has a two year old Toureg and they were standard and I believe they're standard on American SUV's. Any advice on where I should get them and how much I should expect to pay?
