Hello Everyone! After reading all messages regarding short life span for our tires (specifically 20") and message from Sheik that dealer advised him to raise the pressure on the tires to over 40psi I decided to see your opinion on this issue.
Do any of you think that keeping recommended 45/49 pressure on the tires will help them to stay longer? How many of you keeping it and how many do make them lower.
I personaly made them lower to 35/40 due to the fact that I am rarely drive with "full load".
Now I afraid if I made a mistake of doing this even I still have only 6K on the car and did not yet noticed any excessive tire wear (but living in NYC I already managed to scratch some of my rims.

I'd be very interested in overall tire longevity too.. I have an 08 w/S-Line 21" wheels and wondering how far I'll make it before replacing brakes/rotors + wheels :/
As for tire pressure, my dealer recommended running them 45/49 psi independent of load...

Check where they are wearing. Middle means too hard, edges means too low. I only pump mine up full for a fast journey fully loaded. Now the tyres are wearing badly but i prefer the softer ride. The wear is most likely due to weight and speed, not inflation. Go slower, lighter and straighter for longer life. Or floor it and enjoy it

On the 21's you should be 46/7 in front and 48/9 in back or close to those numbers..

I use pressures of 3.2 bar all around - that's 46 PSI, or there about.
On Continental tyres I can get 35,000 km (worn to the absolute limit of legality). On Goodyear Eagle F1, 25,000 km. So Conti's win hands down.
FYI, I drive about 700 km per week of which about 60 - 70% is motorway driving at speeds between 120 - 140 kmh. I use cruise control a lot (don't have adaptive, and I wouldn't want it - its the kind of thing I would forget about and have an accident, I'm quite sure).
According to the TC I'm getting 10.4 L/100 km which is about the same as I was getting in my 2001 allroad 2.5 TDI.
I check the tyre pressure every week for commuting, and before any long journey.

I've gone through two sets of tyres in 21000 miles. The first were Conti's and the tracking was slightly out but the second set of Pirelli's wore true. I have been running at 40psi but the centres were wearing slightly more than the sides so my dealer lowered the pressure to 32psi at the 16000 mile service. Tyres are now down to the legal limit at a total car milage of 21000.

how many miles you put into yours and what's tire wear like? I got the Dunlop 21's that came w/S-Line package...
