Is there an undercarriage cover that covers the whole underside of the Q? Or is it just the engine bay that's covered? Does anyone have any pics of the whole undercarriage of their Q?
The reason I ask is, I just brought my 2011 TDI for the 5000mi service yesterday and when I looked today underneath for the first time, I noticed that the whole underside is open except for under the engine bay. Just wondering if this is normal or if the dealer took it off and forgot to put it back.
Thanks.

Found it interesting too. Originally had a 2007 Q7 (early model) with the cover and my replacment Q7 2008 did not have it? Maybe a good reason out there?

not sure if this helps, but on the 2007 4.2 gas engine, there is a 2-piece belly pan. There is a front piece that covers pretty much everything under the engine back to the firewall, and then a second piece that is skinnier and forms a bit of a "T" shape as it attaches to the wider front piece. That second piece extends back to cover the transmission, and it is just a flat panel that is open on the sides, it does not mold around everything. The second piece attaches toward the rear of the car by means of two spring clips that help it float - presumably so it does not break if it hits road debris or scrapes the ground.
