You should be able to do it via the MMI too..

I'm keen to know the same. Mine has no MMI settings for it present. I assume after I get the sensors we'll need to enable it in the ECU to then be visible in MMI.

The 2010 Q7 does not use tire pressure sensors. It uses differentiation in the wheel spin from the ABS rotors. In mine, it's activated in the MMI.

Yeah, that's not how it's accomplished. The newer ABS controllers can be re-programmed to create TPMS. I believe it's a matter of re-coding with VAGCOM. I don't believe any physical hardware is required to get it going.

One needs to verify that their ABS pump can support this functionality. (I don't know how to do that on Audi.)

I was just about to call BS on your post because my 2010 has TPMS and I always thought there were sensors in the wheels (I always wondered why my GL450 tells me the exact tire pressure in each wheel and the Q7 did not). So before I jumped to conclusions I looked into it further.

Well, I just walked outside and sure enough...plain old rubber valve stems which means that you are right! No sensors in the wheels!

So it should be very inexpensive to "add" this feature via VCDS if you do not already have it. No need to buy sensors.

Contact the nice folks at Ross Tech on Monday...I think they can help with the security code.
