I had a trip to Yellowstone during summer and had a flat tire on the road. The local store at West Yellowstone patched it, and I didn't notice any leaking afterwards, because I measured continuously monthly afterwards.
During a recent dealership visit, they found out that actually the shop somehow ruined the tire during the repair, and it can't be repaired, and it is leaking very slowly.
First, I am wondering if I need to replace the tire or not. If it is not noticeable, I can keep driving it till the other three tires need to replace, and I can measure the pressure weekly to ensure it is not under-inflated. Currently my other three tires still have half the threads (7/32). Secondly, if I replace the tire, can I just replace one? Will the quattro work improperly with the new tire? Or is it possible to let tire shop wear out the new tire till the same thread depth as the other tires? Thanks.

you need to have the shop shave the tread depth down to match the other tires. I think I read that the tires can't be anymore than 2/32's difference in tread depth.

Shaving the tire means you buying half a tire for the price of a new tire. The closer you are to finishing the threads, the more chance you have of getting flat tires.
