Default Vibration at freeway speed

I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel at about 55-60 miles per hour. I let the tires cool off, then checked the tire presures and set them to what was stated in the owner's manual. Test drove the vehicle and didn't notice it anymore. The pressures were only 1/2 psi to 1 psi low. Would this small reduction in pressure cause the vibration? Or is there a wheel balance issue? I have the 20" with the High Performance Goodyears.

I did a search but didn't find much on this issue.

Same problems took to dealer said balance problem 2x dealer says fixed but problem still there. I need to take back to dealer again. I have 19" OEM Eagle LS.

Curious to know which Goodyears you have?
I really doubt its tire pressure related

Default Goodyear Eagle F1 275/45ZR20

I don't notice it a low speeds, and above 70 mph. As soon as I got to 60 I was like this feels like a wheel is out of balance. Car only has 692 miles on it. I guess I have to go into the dealer to have it checked out.

I have the same GoodYear's on my car with 4000mi on them. I always have my wheel rebalanced at 1000mi especially with high performance tires. It takes about 1000mi to get "worked-in". I ALWAYS get a "Road Force" balance which will tell you if you have a bad tire or wheel. I had a slight vibration in my steering wheel also and did the following:

Made sure tire pressure was up to at least 45psi all the way around (cold). Door jam suggests 44 front and 49 rear. At one point, the pressures got down to 41 all the way around and I had vibration issues. Filled them up and no vibration.

I use Nitrogen instead of air

Road Force balanced wheels.

Default Tire pressure settings.....

The door jam says 44 front and 49 rear, but the owner's manual says that is for full load conditions. There is a normal load condition with a setting of 35 PSI all the way around for the Goodyear tires (275/45/ZR20), When only carring 3 people, this is the approx. tire pressure that the dealer must have used. See page 369 in the tires and wheel section. There is a grid with all the different tires and their associated pressure settings.

I'm wondering if this "normal" pressure setting is the problem? Any ideas.

Default Less contaminents compared to regular air and tire pressure seems to

maintain the same level a little better.

Default It seems that everyone having problems have Goodyear.

I haven't noticed the vibration on my Continentals, but I will watch for it. I had Goodyears on my '03 Allroad and they did the same thing. Come to find out after the dealer replaced all four one of the tires was out of round.

Default Re: F1 275/45ZR20 same here same problem, but the dealer said...

go put some miles up. Why? I mean how and why do they balance them in the first place if it doesnt count. I suspect he is going to say "ah you must have hit a curb or something after 2000 miles, not our problem"
Also if we wait for a couple of thousand miles we will be damaging suspension, bearing, brake and steering parts too. For what cos some lazy person didnt do their job properly.
