Hi folks,
I'm a newbie, but just wanted to see what others experience has been with getting their 2011 Q7. I ordered my 2011 Q7 S-Line at the end of Nov 2010, and I'm still waiting (almost impatiently now). I have an ETA of the week of April 11th, which has moved 2 or 3 times. Some of my updates on the car have been given to me automatically, others have been after I've prodded. I'm just ready to take possession of and drive my vehicle.
Others? Similar experience? Completely different?

I was lucky that mine was sitting on the lot. Other than preferring black leather, it's optioned just as I would have ordered it.
Hope your Q shows up quickly!

Now my dealer had a huge allocation as they sold many Q7's...that could have something to do with it, make sure your dealer is not the delay as I was quoted 12 weeks upon ordering and it took just under that.
Good Luck and the wait was worth it for me FWIW.

Sounds like your dealer did not have the allocation to have the vehicle pulled into production. From what you are saying, they went two months without filling your order. I am sorry for this, has nothing to do with the brand. That is on the dealer.

I had three different dealers tell me when I was looking to order in feb that the earliest I could have my 2011 S-line was may. I'm a audi newb so I will admit that if there is some strange 'delay' come may I won't be surprised...I really hope not. But at that point what recourse would I have? Yell alot and start all over at another dealer who might be lying again? I wouldnt see an actual 2011 car tip 2012

Ordered 11/26/10. Stolen off the transport in January new one supposed to arrive in April. Updates are only if I ask. Whole process has been frustrating to say the least

Very good so far:
1. Dealer quoted 2-3 months for an S-Line from date of order. Was told today (2 weeks after I placed the order) that bhe managed to secure one already scheduled for production, and change it - should be shipping April 21, and arrive early/mid-May.
2. I had a hard time deciding whether or not to get the rear side airbags due to 2 kids - a 4 and 6 year old. Called Audi USA; got disconnected while following up. They left me 3 messages over 2 days, wanting to get in touch. I finally called back, and spoke to a chap who explained the ins and outs of airbags in extraordinary detail - when they deploy, how much they protrude into the cabin, Audi's perspective on their safety. Was impressed with his knowledge, patience and persistence. Based on his advice - I opted for the rear side airbags.

My experience seems to parallel yours. Seems to depend on which Q you spec, and also on the dealer's mojo. My S-line gas prestige was ordered in late October, with an expected 90 day or less delivery. After some weeks dealer said there was a nationwide shortage (US) of the 333 hp Q, and was very difficult to get an allocation. I now have the VIN#, and mine is due here in a week, for a 5 month order timeline (if it in fact arrives). During this 5 months, there was no shortage of TDI's sitting on dealer lots in the area.
