What mileage do you replace rotors?

2013 TDI. Replaced front rotors and pads at 90k+ miles. FCP Euro will have the right parts, it’s a 1-2 hour job for a novice with YouTube. Total cost was less than $250. Rear pads still at 50% so no need to change. Advice given to me that turns out true and helpful was to not bother with the drilled and slotted crap the ricers are in love with. The original system works great and is very hard to improve upon.
