What size wheels is everyone ordering?

All the Q7's I've seen so far have the 20" wheels. Although 20" will work well in the summer, especially when driving on sand on a beach, I'd rather go with a narrower tire for better traction in snow and a taller sidewall for potholes. I like the design of the 18" wheels better than the 19". I had originally thought to go with 20's for summers and get a separate set of 18" winter tires. A previous post states that you can't change wheel sizes since the suspension geometry changes by tire size. If that is true, I think I will have to go with the 18's.

If the rims on the 19" looked like the 20" rims, I would get those. But like you, I am not a fan of the 19" rims. I will be getting the 18" for 2 reasons: 1) looks the best, as do the 20" and 2) best rain/snow traction. If you're not getting the Premium edition, why not put that money towards the Nav or the Sunroof? Also, I looked into getting the V6 Premium and the 18" wheels that come with the V8 are not available on the V6. The only wheels you can get on the V6 are designed similar to the 19" wheels for the V8, but in 18" or the 20" wheels. If I had the money to burn, I would be looking to get some 19" Gunmetal rims, but as you mentioned from a previous post- that means I would have to place my order with the Audi 19" wheels that don't look as good as the 5 Spoke Double-arm 18" or 20" wheels.

Different situation perhaps in a warm climate - I'm in Texas. For me, the 275/45 wider tread tire sets off the look of the Q7 better, and I like the 20's, so went with them. I went with the all season tires rather than the performance, hoping to get softer rubber and better ride.

that you can get the Nokian WR SUV tire in the correct size for the Q7 18" wheels. It is a great light-duty winter tire that is quiet enough to use year-round. I had them on my allroad and they worked great. The Nokian WR SUV is not made in sizes that match the 19" or 20" Q7 wheels. (At least not yet)

I'm ordering the 20" with all season. For off road or adverse road conditions, the smaller the rim the better. For comfort on pavement, the larger the better.

Just ordered a Q7 Premium (Lava Gray/Espresso, Air suspension. towing and 6 passenger seating) with 20 inch wheels and all season tires. I liked the look of the 20 inch wheels as they fit the wheel well best and the larger tires, I suspect will provide a better highway ride.

going 20" two tones - (1660k option in the uk as we're mugs for good looking wheels here - noticed its a lot less in USA
)
at present we've not been advised in uk as to whether there are different tyres we can specify.
I'd like to think I could get michelins instead of conti's - my pref -
On past experience the tyres like this on other high end suv's are Y rated (performance tyre).
The initial batch of Q7's will be conti's as they also make the air suspension unit's. Spoke to Michelin and the date they gave for their 20" tyre was way too close to the Q7 release in uk to be available in time.
