Default What Thule feet that fit Q7? Thule 440?

Greetings! I purchased a used Thule classic cargo box and it came with 50" bars that have feet that do not fit the Q7 rack. I called Rack Attack and they said that there is not Thule feet that would fit the Q7 without drilling, but I researched here that Thule 440 fits the Q7. Does anyone know if I can just buy the feet that come with the Thule 440 to use with the 50" bars? What size are the bars that come with the thule 440? Please excuse my ignorace about this subject. Thanks for your help.

Default Check out this site...

I bought thule Aero bars and feet that fit my Q7 without drilling. The site gives you all the code numbers you need.

http://www.roofrackshop.com/</a

Default I know, it's a bummer. Some of us here went with roofrackshop.com and I personally am.......

very happy I did. I feel the bars I got have the best integrated design and look like they should be on the Q7 and not so much aftermarket. On a plus size, I knew they would also work with my roof box with no problem.

Justfor fun has a link to roof racks at the the bottom of his sig.

Default Now its a timing issue for me because I need them for a road trip on Thursday...

I doubt that they can get them to me in 3 business days and if they can it would probably cost a small fortune.

Default Are the Thule 440 the same as the Aero bars? In know there is a fit kit you can purchase

for the 440 bars so that there is no wind noise.

Default Looking for the same setup here in the US

How was the compatibility? Secure enough with no drilling? Also, what was the total cost in US dollars with shipping?

Default Yes - the 440 works and is a lot cheaper than importing the euro bars

Here's a pic - fit is tight but very secure once in place. The 'fit kit' that you can get for the 440 just fills in the gap that you see with a plastic spacer. I did the same job with a soft piece of black packing foam - it offers no stuctural support but does significantly reduce wind noise. I got this setup over the factory as the factory bars are significantly higher and will not let me get into my garage as it exceeds the 7' door clearance. I purchased my racks from Rack Attack in Canada.
