I searched the threads and am sure that what I am hearing isn't the stepping motor issue that has been written about. My vehicle was ordered in early January and arrived this week.
For the first 5 to 10 minutes after I start out in the morning, I hear a motor sound, a low frequency hum coming from my center arm rest in the front seat. No clicking sounds. Am I am really certain that I have pinpointed the area. I have the rear seat automatic climate controls and an AMI unit under the centre arm rest. It can't be the AMI because there are no moving parts....so is this just the sound of the heating/AC unit that drives the back seat climate control system?
Thanks

though it could be an associated fan.
Why not just turn off rear heat system and see if noise goes away

I had a passenger turn it off but it still seems to be there....although I need to check to make sure he knew what he was doing. It does sound like the climate control unit though.
