Whinning / cricket noise coming from dash
Anyone have any ideas what might be causing a whinning / cricket noise coming from the dash? I can not isolate the noise and it's very sporadic. Had all the stepper motors replaced last month, it took care of the clicking noise but now I have another that needs to be fixed.

I just had my passenger side HVAC blower motor replaced. The motor was making the same noises that you describe. When the chirping comes back, turn up the motors, one at a time and see if you can get the sound to change.

YES!!!
This has been driving me crazy. It sounds like a computer fan that has way too much dust in it. When I have the AC fan between 3 and 6 is when I usually hear it, and it slows down and speeds up with the fan adjustment.
I have isolated it to be under the glove box - in fact if my wife is sitting in the passenger seat she can kick up with her foot and make it stop.
Unfortunately, I havent been able to reproduce this at the dealer but I am now sure that it is the AC fan.
Thanks!!!

yeah...i know about the cricket....
my son said that about the noise.....we have a cricket in your car....
anyway...i took the glove box out. and diassembled the fan motor....
there was lots of dust and some lint there...so, i cleaned up and put some WD-40 there. finally the cricket is gone.
my son said...."where did the cricket go?"
anyway. if you have some time....just put some grease there....you can get lid of the bug.
