Default Wind broke the door hinges....

This one takes the cake for freak accidents. We had some truly high winds here in NJ Thursday and Friday, reaching 60 mph. On Thursday my wife took our daughter to her dance class. As she opens the door to get out, a rush of wind kicks up and pushes the door backwards towards the front of the car. A loud crunching/clunking sound is heard. The car now needs new lower hinges as it will not close properly. We are considering ourselves lucky in that my wife is 7 months pregnant and had she parked in opposite direction, I can't even bring myself to think of the consequences.

Default Sorry no picture as ....

the car is in the shop getting repaired. Audi is NOT covering this as it was caused by outside influences.

Thank you everyone. The car has less than 1100 miles on it.

Happened to me too except the over extension was saved by our other car. Still the body shop is better than the hospital. Glad all ok. Wife and kids before cars

Default Re: Wind broke the door hinges....

i also live in NJ and the same thing happened to me. I opened to door and the wind took it. I heard a giant crash and the door would not open and close properly. I tried it a few times - and the door started hitting the front fender - causing even more damage.

I brought it to the body shop - 1400 in damage and that does not include any new parts...

Crazy...
