We're on our second season of OEM 20"'s with Blizzaks. An absolute mountain goat. We have about 8000 miles on them and still going strong.

we decided to keep the 20" for the rest of the year and have these 18" for the winter. changing the wheels and tires on the Q is soooo much harder compared to my S4. the wheels/tires are so heavy on the Q.

scotskier, no such thing just post them! Love to see a Q7 in use. You should see mine now 6 days of delivering snow bound people to places they gotta be... and back. The Q is a trooper especially now that I am no longer on Eagle F1's they were not a snow tyre.
I love my Q7 so much I really am contemplating washing in the midst of a (Irish) blizzard just for the pleasure of the few minutes of bling.
Toyo Proxes... they should be giving me tyres for all the praise I heap on them!

I purchased a winter wheel setup a few months ago and I have no idea when I should put them on. Anyone have any suggestions. I live in MD and the temps are currently in the mid 30's to low 40's. No snow yet and I'm sitting on 21" s-line wheels/tires. Not sure when I should throw on the winter wheels/tires??

I believe the 21" tires are rated only for warm weather driving vs. the standard (18-20") all-season rated tires. If so, the concern, aside from snow & ice, would be the hardening of the rubber in the cold. This would result in the lost of traction in dry weather handling. I would recommend swapping to winter setup now.

I have the 20" setup on my MY08 and for winter switch to 18" setup. This year I will be using Hankook iPike's.

Regards,
NHman

Well..I listened to you guys and had the winter wheels put on yesterday. They are so tiny compared to the 21" S-line wheels but damn if the ride aint plush now. LOL

These are 18" wheels and tires that was used on a Cayenne. I think they are 255/55/18.

Sorry for the bad pic. From my the phone camera
