Default Woohoo! DVD Headrest pictures...

With several roadtrips coming up, we broke down and got the Vizualogic headrests installed. We went with a dual-player set-up and the simpler A1150 head units (no 3.5mm aux input or headphone jack by screen). You can watch 2 different DVDs or the same on both screens. Audio can be routed to the car stereo (FM modulator), or just to the wireless headphones.

Kudos to Hurley's (Tysons Corner, VA) , who did an awesome job!

Here's the front view...I thought 7" screens would be small, but they're perfect given the short distance from the actual seating position...

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6960"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6960" border="0"></a>

3/4-side view shows how the screen angle is adjustable (they're vertical here, can be adjusted to be flush with the headrest). Nice bonus is that the headrest rake is also adjustable (fwd/back) -- it had been a minor annoyance that the stock units don't adjust.

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6961"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6961" border="0"></a>

Front view shows the great leather match with the (Cricket) interior and the larger-sized DVD headrest compared to stock:

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6964"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6964" border="0"></a>

Here's the remote...I don't think it'll get much use, since most functions can be controlled through the buttons under the screen:

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6959"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6959" border="0"></a>

Here's a close-up of the AUX input they installed in the back, including a switched AC plug...just needs a PS/3 or a Wii!

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6957"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6957" border="0"></a>

AUX input was installed in the left side of the cargo compartment -- avoids interference with the Air Suspension controls, etc. on the right side:

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6958"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6958" border="0"></a>

I also had a couple of 12V ports installed up front (there's a matching one to this pic on the passenger side). Makes use of the wiring that is unused due to the S-line console and the missing ashtray/lighter in US models. As noted by others, Bluetooth is a battery hog, so these ports will be used for powering the cellphone and/or V1 on roadtrips while keeping a clean look up top (no messy wires in sight!).

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6965"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6965" border="0"></a>

Finally, here's a picture of the cargo management solution I'm using -- it's actually a BMW-sourced part. These pieces have foam bottoms and work well to keep things from sliding around. (The center is the storage box.) I think it works better than a cargo net for most things...

<a href="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6963"><img src="http://mydrive.roadfly.com/photos/pic.php?u=27624TE0n4&i=6963" border="0"></a>

Cheers!

Default It's actually a hard plastic with foam underside.

Got it from the BMW dealership, PN 82 12 940 00 851 = $38.25. 4 corner pieces, 4 side pieces, and a storage box.

What other pics are you interested in -- I'll pull out the ol' camera?

Default Answers inside..

$2k for the dual-unit headrests + aux input, fully-installed. IIRC, $300 less if you only want a single DVD player; $300 more if you want headphone/aux inputs under the screens

$100 for the install of the two additional 12v outlets.

E-mail me if you want more details.

Cheers!
