This applied to all models, not just the Q7, but since it most recently happened on my Q7 I'm posting here. About 3 weeks after I bought mine (CPO, but with new car warranty still before CPO kicked in), a Xenon bulb kicked the bucket. One also burned out again on my S4. That one lasted 3 years. On both occasion I shelled out about $220. The bulb itself was about $175 of that each time.

Audi is finally stepping up and covering these parts under warranty for 4 year / 50K miles.

So, if you haven't already received a letter (probably didn't get one if you didn't have a bulb issue), you will get one stating that Xenon lights are now covered for 4 years / 50K miles. If you paid to have them replaced, you will be getting reimbursed.

Why buy the bulb at Audi? You can buy two bulbs so the color matches online for cheaper

98a that is what I was thinking but if Audi is covering them (I received my letter a few days ago) then why not let them.

Again, very sad it had to come to this for them to be covered. They are not a typical Wear & Tear item and should have been covered like everything else for 4yr/50k. They are not like regular bulbs which blow on a whim and cost almost nothing to replace...
