Default Not that I'm aware. AFAIK, the ringtone from your phone will transfer if your phone

supports that Bluetooth function. My Blackberry does not, so all I get is the generic electronic ring.

Default I have a HP 6515 Cingular, and do not have that capability

Also is not compatible with jetwaremobile software, that makes almost all the pocket PC transfer ringtone, phone book, carrier signal,... But it works perfect for me otherwise.

Default The changes are easy to do but..

the software itself can be somewhat intimidating (at least it was to me initially). Ross-Tech has done a good job at clearly separating out "safe" and "advanced" things. Things like reading and clearing fault codes or measuring things like boost, engine torque, etc can be done without much hassle or fear of screwing anything up.

It's only when you get into things the recoding of the control modules or adaptation channels that you have to careful. In the case of the window up/down, you do need to play around with the coding.

Making this change does not change anything else and will not mess up your MMI. If you happen to be in the Boston, MA area, I'd be happy to do the coding for you. The tool is somewhat expensive and not really worth it if this is the only thing you want to do with it (IMO). I haven't tapped anywhere close to the potential of it, myself, but I use it routinely to scan both my cars (A4 and Q7) for fault codes and have used it many times when I've done mods on my A4.

Ross-Tech has been very good about updates. Once you buy one of their interfaces, they don't nickel and dime you with subscription fees or software upgrade costs. New versions are always being released and Uwe, Andy and crew are very responsive on the VAG-com forums (provided the answer isn't already in their FAQs! :-)

Anyway, drop me a line if you have any questions!

Default Thank you Mike

I am in Orlando, FL. I tried at my dealer, but was told they can do the changes but audiusa has prohibited to mess with it. Then I bought the HEX-CAN, and went I got home last night it was already here. I did connected and works but I do not know how to make the changes. Where can I find info (step by step for)?. I saw ross-tech wiki, could not find how to open account.
Thank you
Richard

Default Try this...I can also send snap shots if you'd like....

Make sure to record the initial coding of your convenience module (46) before making changes. For me, enabling remote windows/up down required me to add 128 to the existing coding and change the adaptation of a channel.

In a nutshell-
0) Put key in ignition and turn on to acc position (power to all systems, car not actually started)
1) Connect interface to your computer and to the car.
2) Log into module 46
3) Select "Recode" on bottom right
4) record your existing coding
5) Change the coding by adding 128 to the number.

For me, my default coding was: 7632925.
I changed it to 128 + 7632925 = 7633053

6) Next, click on "Adaptation"
7) Go into Channel 61
8) Add 5 to the existing coding (+1 and +4 from the Wiki)
9) Test it and save changes.

For me, the coding of adaptation channel 62 was: 10
After changes: 15

10) After making the changes, close the controller
11) Turn off car and test.

pushing and holding unlock should roll down the windows. pushing and holding lock should roll them up.

PM me if you have any questions!
Mike

Default Done!

Thank you for the instructions, it's done and works perfect.
I have been playing around with the HEX-CAN, and I think the voice (speech dialog)control language cannot be changed.
