The matrix activation is done remotely. When ordering this product:

Website Link: Matrix LED Headlight Activation <-Click Link for More Information

You receive a VAS interface. You setup an appointment for a remote session. Using your laptop and the supplied interface the activation is done purely remotely through your laptop to the car. All in all generally 30-40 minutes total, if not less.

The matrix functionality in North America is likely not going to be activated for some years. The NHTSA has set rules that are far more strict on the behavior and preciseness of how matrix style headlights have to function in the US. This means that the current matrix headlights that are being used cannot be activated as they won't meet the guidelines set forth for the US.

So for now and likely the next following years activating the matrix functionality remotely like this will be the only option, unless something drastic changes with the NHTSA regulations.

Cheers,
Very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Ugh, dealer is telling me 4-6 months. Is that typical? I think my 2017 was 2-3.

Are you getting a 55? Just ordered a 25 Prestige 55 and dealer is telling me September. A 45 might be a shorter wait.

huge backlog on production of V6 equipped models due to the BSG debacle. cars have been running at 4 months or so for lead time except Audi has been prioritizing replacements of the BSG over building new cars from what I heard the other month. not sure if this has calmed down much or not...

Thanks for the lighting information!! Will help us put our order together, too.

MHoran - I've seen elsewhere about the 3.0 delays but can't find information on if it's spilling over to SQ7 orders, too. (I know, totally different engine, but they share production lines.) Would you know status on 2025 SQ7 order timelines?

this is a tough one. haven't heard that much on those cars. @SCarGuy works at a dealer and is usually pretty helpful in terms of current lead times and what is happening (if it is more or less public knowledge), maybe he can chime in...

I googled for 2025 q7's today and found several with the V6 engines on dealer lots or in transit. So, Audi is evidently producing Q7's with the V6 now.

There was one 25 Q7 at the lot today but wasn’t configured how I wanted it. Placed anodes and was told late August.

I have the matrix led headlights with the laser light package on my SQ7. The laser lights come on generally at 40 mph and above.
Given the choice again I would not buy them as a stand alone option for 1250 which is what i had to pay
I assume they are now included an a package so in the end, maybe the cost is not as significant as it was in 2021
i have the default configuration and to be honest, when the laser function comes on, most folks riding with me can't tell.
