Default Is 3.5 Weeks to a dead battery normal?

The car and the battery are approximately eight months old. I went on vacation for about three and half weeks and left the car in the garage. When I returned the battery was absolutely flat. So dead that that my "smart" charger refused to even start charging. The manual seems to say that there is some intelligent load shedding going on in order to save the battery. I am obviously not convinced. Has anyone else had this problem or do I have a bad battery?

Don't have specific experience with the Q7, but my cars have sat in the garage for similar length of time while I was traveling overseas and never had a dead battery upon return. These cars indeed have an energy management system that progressively shuts down components to preserve enough of a charge to turn over the engine. At some point all components in the car should essentially be shut down to not drain the battery. However, batteries don't like cold temperatures, so depending on how cold it got in your garage while you were gone it could very well be that it died. If temperature is not a potentially issue then I would say you have a bad battery or the energy management system is malfunctioning and not shutting things down as it should. Some claim you have to lock the car while it's parked, otherwise the keyless system keeps draining the battery, but that's also not the case in my experience. I never lock our cars in the garage even if they sit there for weeks.

I've only let my Q7 sit for 2.5 weeks and it started, but my C7 sits for 3 weeks and usually is dead unless I put a battery tender on it.

I would also check the battery terminals to make sure there the contacts haven't separated or corroded. On my current car (don't have my Q7 yet) a (fairly new) battery would not start my car after the temperatures dropped. I even charged the battery with a rapid charger and still nothing. It dawned on me to retighten the terminal screws, and the positive terminal was loose - problem solved.

Not normal, mine routinely sits for 3 weeks, is almost a year old, with 15K miles, everything always works, remote key and all, quick starts. Think your battery has gone bad.

My 2019 Q7 sat for 3 weeks. When I started it, An auto start error came up, then the check engine light came on and won't go off. My C7's battery was low as well, but I was able to start it after putting it on a trickle charger over night. Is this normal? Q7 has less than 900 miles on it.

Not normal at all, and not on a new battery (maybe a 5 year old one). Did you fully shut down AND lock the car before you left it? How close by was the key to the car the whole time you were gone?

It’s not abnormal. The Q7 has lots of stuff alway on that discharges the 12v battery. Audi connect is always on, for example. After 2 weeks, my year old Q7 turns over much slower than normal when I lush the start button.

Interesting... I left my 2019 Q7 in the driveway for 6 months with no charger. The person watching the house started the car exactly 2 times during that period. It was fine when we returned home.

I have left my 17 Q7 at home when I traveled for work over 30 days a few times and it started up with no issues when I got back. The only time my battery died was when I left my obdeleven dongle in some time.
