Default Ambiente Lighting

On vehicles without the "Ambiente interior Lighting" option - is the lighting still fitted but just not activated? I don't have this option but led lightstrips activate on doors when opening/shut so can this be coded to remain on in vehicle (like it stays on with Ambiente lighting???

Cars that have the "Interior Lighting Package Plus" have different RGB-type LEDs so no, you can't simply just "turn it on" via VCDS coding. The regular "Interior Lighting Package" equipped cars only have LEDs that emit white and red and do not have RGB LEDs. For obvious cost-cutting reasons, Audi does not equip the cars without this option with the more costly RGB LEDs only to disable it.

I'm not doubting what you say but seems strange that, if they can be programmed to come on when doors open, that they also can't be programmed to stay on while for example the engine in running???

I think he's just saying that the multi colored RGB LED's are not fitted to cars without the package, not that you can't reprogram the standard LED's?
