I am a new Q7 Prestige owner and have the 9500CI built in radar/laser protection system in my other car. It has saved my butt many times! I was looking for a used one on Ebay (as they have replaced the $1,500 9500CI with a $3,500 model with similar features).

A couple of people that were selling used 9500CI's noted that in cars with distronic radar or autonomous driving features, the detector constantly alerts with false alarms for K band. I assume this is because of the proximity of the radar detection remote module in the front grill and the location of the car's radar based sensors. I know this isn't a problem with the window mounted units.

Does anyone have specific experience with the 2018 Q7 and built in radar units? I do not have the DAP option if that matters.
