Audi Q7 2017 Oil Consumption. Any one else with this issue with this model and year?

The naturally aspirated 4.2L V8 engine!!! My 05 A6 came with the NA 3.2L V6 and I didn't have oil consumption issues either until past 200,000 miles. The NA 3.2L V6, the NA 4.2L V8 and the NA 5.2L V10 have to be the last reliable engines Audi made. What followed was just crap getting worse every year.
I had S5 4.2l V8 (150k km) and S8 5.2 V10 (180k km) and had no issue with them at all - of course had to make regular carbon cleaning...

Plugs and supercharger belt are part of the 60k maintenance interval, what you'd consider a "major" service. The accessory belt is due at 80k. If the belts haven't been done, I'd get them replaced. You don't want one breaking and leaving you stranded. You could limp if the supercharger belt goes but the accessory going will need a tow.
While I'm a break and fix on certain items, I try to do preventative on the easy stuff like belts, plugs, the rollers and pulleys as they get up there in age. It minimizes the chances of unexpected downtime.

With that said, I've (knocks on wood) never had a belt fail on a modern serpentine system.

Here's another video showing B12 lowering oil consumption (albeit not an Audi). Seems pretty conclusive that the B12 piston soak addresses the carbon buildup on the rings issue.

Disagree with this method of diagnosis. The rings may be sludged and a piston soak could resolve. Try a soak first before throwing the vehicle away or shopping for a replacement engine.

Yeah I don't do not nice, feels dumb and is less effective IMO.
I have a good vibe with the service guy, I just wish I understood the incentives better. My understanding is that dealers these days make most of their money from repairs, but I'm unclear how the Audio mother ship and the warranty company factor into this.
Funny aside - I've had 3 different loaner vehicles since November, seems like a weird business model to have customers put 8000+ miles onto new cars.

I did a B-12 piston soak on my daughter's 2.0 VW Tiguan. The "add oil" light had come on once before the scheduled oil change, so I was concerned that it would likely worsen. After the soak I'd planned to shorten the oil change interval to 5,000 miles, but life got busy and I didn't. She visited us over July 4th & I checked the oil level and found it was near the add-oil level on the dipstick. I added about 1 liter. She checked the mileage & it had been 7500 miles since the last oil change. (A few days later I stopped by her place and changed the oil with my Harbor Frt vacuum oil changer which only took 16 minutes total.)
Although her oil consumption hadn't become alarming, performing the B-12 soak was a good preventive measure. I don't have a lot of mileage data, but it seems to have been worthwhile.
