I switched to Motul and my consumption has increased. I have poured 10 quarts so far and driven 3,000 miles. So that's about a quart per 1,000 miles? You guys put 7.2 quarts during oil change right?

what oil were you using before motul? I’ll switch to that on my next oil change to see if if my oil consumption improves.
When you switch oils it can lead to increased consumption during the transition period of an OCI or two due to cross contamination additive clash. Also you cannot judge oil based upon consumption.
What about high mileage synthetic oil? Has anybody tried it?
From what I’ve seen, there isn’t a 5w40 high mileage synthetic oil. But plenty of 10w40 M1, Castrol, Valvoline. That makes me nervous, maybe during summer only a 10w40?
Has anyone with oil consumption test part 2 failures asked their techs for the printed results? These were mine. I'd be interested to see y'alls results. I'm still fighting to get the $18k repair estimate covered by Audi being this is a known issue. Any one have recommendations or suggestions on how to get them to cover it? What worked for you? @SwissInTexas do you still have that corporate contact? I've called AoA even VW Auto group. They referred back to AoA.
That's a ton of oil consumption but also with a total miles well beyond the factory warranty. I wouldn't be happy with Audi, but I also understand their business stance on it.

I have been thinking about this statement. Please tell me you are some kind of a scientist with these statements. What is the logis behind this?
