Ive started tracking mine after the light came on seemingly "quickly" this time. Odometer is at 96.5k miles as of this morning. I'm about 1/2 quart low at ~600 miles. Will be about a quart low at 1,200miles if this trend continues. I've recently switched from Motul to Castrol. I'm considering going back to Motul and rechecking after a few intervals.
Have over 5k miles of travel planned for October, with about 2k of that towing a trailer. Should be easy enough to track while driving that much!

I have to add 1 liter of oil per 1000 km. Service say coked and stuck piston rings are the culprit. Only engine rebuild will solve oileater.

I went from burning 1qt/500mi to almost nothing after two procedures on a 2017 3.0T CREC engine with 165k (unsure which procedure did the trick as I did them both over one weekend). By almost nothing I mean 600mi has passed and my oil level oscillates between 90% and 100% full.

1. B-12 chemtool in the top end. Look it up on Youtube. It's cheap and available at wally.

2. BG dynamic engine cleaner two-step system. This is expensive around $300 and takes 2 hours. I also ran their GDI system cleaner while performing dynamic cleaner (that's supposed to get the intake valves clean but probably no effect on the oil consumption issue)

I'm sticking to 3k intervals now and will use the "20min before every oil change" BG product going forward.

That BG dynamic engine cleaner product comes with a 6qt case. Engine oil capacity is 7.2qt. Did you use a second case?

No just used the 6 qts in the kit and was not concerned. I actually drove the car for over 500 miles with less than 1qt total oil in it before I realized it had an oil burning issue....and that was over 50k mi ago. Didn't realize it was out of oil until the valve train clacking noise was almost constant. Display wouldn't show oil level because ABS module was out and of course no dipstick. I suspect there is a limit to how many problems the dash can display before its memory is full and it probably prioritzes safety messages over maintenance...it completely took out the oil level display but it came back after I replaced the ABS module.

I went back to LiquiMolly but oil consumption still happening. After oil change I needed to refill at 700 miles. Then after 200 miles i checked this morning and showed 1/3 below max. But then I tried in the afternoon and it was showing full.

Default Oil Consumption has gotten worse

Unfortunately, my vehicle has never made it to a 10,000 mile interval without the yellow oil indicator light come on. When I asked the Audi service agent , he states that the car does not typically make it to a 10,000 mile interval because of the large engine. Over the past 5 years the interval to add one quart of oil has been less and less. It has gone from ~9500, 7500, 3000 intervals. On July 22, 2021 I took my car in for the 80,000 mile service. The actual mileage on the odometer was 80,304. The car service was complete and returned. On August 16, 2021, my yellow oil indicator light came on at 81,588 miles. I called the my local Audi Service and was advised to come in for an oil consumption test. I also notified the National Audi Customer Service line to voice my concern for my car. I inquired if oil consumption is a known issue in the Audi Q7 2017. There was not a clear admission of this concern in their vehicles but it made me concern that this could be an issue because of historical issues with Audi's early consumption of oil. I am concerned because this vehicle has the oil indicator light come on in shorter intervals which make me concerned about the longevity and reliability of the engine.

i purchased a new 2018 Audi Q7. Since day 1 it has always consumed oil. About a 1 quart between oil changes. Audi has run 2 oil consumption studies and they said it is within tolerance (consumption of 1 quart between changes). At 60,000 miles the oil consumption has significantly increased. I am having to add a quart about every 1500 miles. Audi wants to boroscope the engine, my cost is $1,000. Of course there will be wear, I have about 79,000 miles on it now. This is ridiculous we should start a class action suit. This is supposed to be a luxury brand and it appears that they don't want to recognize that there is an issue with some of these engines. Any other ideas or solutions?

If you're going to run Liqui-Moly, also get some Ceratec. Really good for the engine. Unfortunately, pretty much all the 1st and 2nd gen engines suffer from oil consumption. Except maybe for the Vr6.
