I'm pretty convinced that people in that segment, mostly, buy on emotion rather than logic. When you do a side by side comparison of the features, capability, and price; the Titan does exceptionally well. The Pro-4X has better off road chops than the AT4/Tremor/Rebel, and is near on par with the TRDPro from Toyota. But is a solid $10k less expensive than any of those. Styling is pretty polarizing though, and the marketing is hot garbage. Combine that with a market that likes to "buy what my dad drove", and it's tough to crack into, much less perform well.

hi all, hoping some of you can point me in a direction here...
2017 q7 3.0 with ~90k mi, purchased as cpo at yr old, was burning qt every 500mi for last few months, today it threw a bunch of lights and made "bad noises" from the exhaust is what my father is saying, upon starting in driveway engine sounds rough but no metal on metal, exhaust sounds rough as well, but not hearing sound he was referencing, still tons of lights on the dash
im no mechanic but guessing this is exhaust valves burning up and coming through exhaust, lovely...
what are my options here? local audi dealer is almost hr away and not a huge fan of them, our current local shop isnt audi focused this is likely over their head, there is a german shop in town but have not consulted yet
car was just paid off last month, and discussed dumping it with the oil consumption but hadnt gotten around to it yet as our other car also just had issues, when it rains it pours i suppose
consult our reg shop? consult local audi specialist? straight to dealer we hate? nuke from orbit?
any thoughts or links to helpful info appreciated, bummer such a nice car with such a headache problem
best of luck to others, dont wait like we did, deal with it now if you have issues, ignoring it wont make it go away

First- we called you out for running into this forum like a teenage girl with her first breakup- crying and incredibly emotional and irrational. You purchased a very high mileage Audi with NO PPI and then complained about the entire brand. The responsibility was entirely on your shoulders and you looked like the idiot who wasted their money. THAT is what I called you out for.
My 3.0T is almost at 120K miles with minimal oil burn, especially across the first 4K of an OCI. While my plan is always subject to change (bc I love cars), I expect to put another 40-80K on this and give it to my youngest daughter for her first new car in less than 2 years.
By the way....how's the new Suzuki you got?

New tires go on here in a few hours, just ordered brake components and fluids for a full driveline flush. Lowering links should be here early next week.
New cars are too expensive, and I can't find anything I like better than the Q7.
Don't worry, I'll keep updating my oil log for you.

It was a consideration. I'm actually holding onto the Q7

Continental Extreme Contact DWS06's - 295/40/21
They're what I've been running for the last cycle, and I've had great success with them on other vehicles as well. Got 47k mi over 22mo on the current set. Down to the wear bars on two of them (I don't rotate like I should). Unfortunately, they're expensive at $375/tire plus installation.
Towing the boat to FL from WNY in June. Need to get maintenance sorted to ensure an easy trip.
Looked HARD at Titan and R1S leases, but even with $7k estimated maintenance into the Q7, the NPV on it was better when looking out over the next 36mo. Plus, I do really like it, and am not "giddy excited" to buy something else.

Normally, bigger or more powerful engines do use oil faster, but the increase in how often you need to top up your oil is a bit out of the ordinary.
In my opinion, getting an oil consumption test done is a smart move. This test can show whether your car's oil use is still within what's considered normal for your model, or if it's something more serious. If the test results show that your car is using too much oil, it could mean there's wear and tear on parts like the piston rings or valve seals, which are important parts inside your engine.

I understand you want people to know your experience with the brand, but as said below you purchased a high mileage car with no PPI and no complete service history and then flamed the brand as a whole based off your limited experience. Not to mention you made a number of youtube videos on the same topic. You twisted the narrative as if you were sold a piece of junk car which you might have been, but there is no way of knowing if you would have had those issues if you bought a low mileage well cared for car or even a new one, so you don't have much ground to stand on.
So I can add several other descriptors to you now.
First- we called you out for running into this forum like a teenage girl with her first breakup- crying and incredibly emotional and irrational.
