Default Best time to change oil

My Q7 has 7000km on it. First service is due at 30000km or 2 years. Is it wise to wait so long and when do you guys do your first oils changes and what else do you do?

I changed mine at 1,000 miles, first Audi service is at 10,000 miles, once that is done I'll change it at about every 7,000 miles.

U.S. says oil changes every 10,000 miles, including first change which is free at 10,000 miles.

Default Perhaps I am just old school...

... but I change my oil every 5k miles. I usually have the Audi service plan, so they do the change at the every 10k, and I do the change in between. I send a sample of the oil out to Blackstone Labs for a report the alerts me to any problems arising...

The data they provide include suggestions on how long to use the oil, based on your particular results.

Blackstone Labs

Here is the latest example from my RS5...

So they are recommending that you change the oil less frequently than US models - wonder why?

Very odd indeed. When you change your oils.... what else do you change? because I am beginning to not rely on what my dealer is telling me....I mean 30000km honestly? That doesnt sound right at all. So now I am wondering what else I should have them change ......I will take it for first oil change every 10000km I think

I Don't change anything else, follow your service schedule in your owners manual.

My German cars all get it at 10k miles or annually, whichever comes first. Never been an issue.
