Default Bose system has no midrange?

New to Audi with my 2019 Q7 Prestige, and while I love the vehicle, it seems the Bose system is very weak. I like a lot of classic rock with a fair amount of midrange stuff (Yes, Rush, etc....) and I keep turning it up looking for 'depth' that it seems to be lacking. I've had numerous aftermarket systems installed over the years, and while I do't expect it to be as good as a system like that, I'm quite let down by the lack of richness/depth in the sound, and the lack of 'oompfh'. I've played around extensively with the bass, treble and subwoofer in the MMI to no avail.

Am I going deaf, or has anyone else felt this system is weak?

It's true. That said, I feel the upgraded Bose Surround system in the prior generation Q7 was superior to the MKII. For a fairly expensive upgrade from the base system, it's less than stellar. That said, not sure it's any different from the Mercedes and BMW systems. I rented an X7 when they first came out and preferred the Bose Surround from my Q7.

All this said, i just bought a pre-owned 2013 Allroad Prestige with the B&O, and hot damn, I hear things in the music I'd never heard before...even from my high-end home audio system. The B&O in my allroad, while could use some deeper/fuller low-end (just like any stock system), is in a different league entirely, despite being a significantly less expensive upgrade option...wish Audi would put a similar B&O system in the Q7 and not require the absurd premium for the version with the pop-up tweeters. I get that as an option for the A8, but no the Q7.

The B&O is pricey but I can't say I recall seeing anybody say it wasn't a high quality system. Value might be different for different people- but nothing along the lines of "eh-it's OK".

I thought it was a night and day difference.
Try from a different source, or if you can, use an SD card.
It is no B&O system from my A8L but it is more than adequate. The B&O in my B9 S5 sucks compared to the Bose in my 2017 Q7... LOL
