Default Coding to Enable bumper brake and parking lights?

For safety reasons I'd like to see if there is any coding that would allow you to have both the tailgate lights and bumper lights working. I know if you open the tailgate the parking and brake lights will work on the rear bumper but I'd like to find out if they can work when the gate is closed? I saw one driving around today with the tailgate closed and the bumper lights working so it got me thinking that it would be a nice safety feature to have them all working. Thoughts?

Are you sure it wasn't just his rear fogs on?
I'd love to have the option of having rear DRLs without having to turn the headlights or parking lights on.

Positive, The fogs don't come on when the brake is depressed when coming to a stop and the tailgate lights weren't working so something must have been wrong with the tailgate sensor making it think the gate was still open. So with all that being said i'm sure there's a way to get them both to work, somehow.

You can have the rear lights on with only DRL by coding "Scandinavian DRL" with OBDEleven.

Thanks for that, it would be great if you share this in OBDEleven thread if it's not there already.
Is that always on, while in auto (meaning you can still force it off by setting dial to "0") ?

It works in conjunction with DRL - so I guess it works via. the MMI. I can't switch off DRL with the light switch, it goes via the MMI. This maybe a regional thing.
