I used to own a 2011 Q5, and I also own a 2011 VW CC.. Both had a similar feature on the cruise control (but implemented slightly different).
On the Q5:
I was sort of expecting the Q7 to work the same as the Q5, but when I held it up, all of the sudden I realized that my cruise speed had increased from 45 to 85..
Did that feature just bite the dust? Is there a way (with ODB11) to turn it back on?
On the Q5:
- if you pushed the cruise lever UP, the speed would go up by 1 MPH.
- if you pushed the cruise lever up and held it for 1-2 seconds, the speed would go up by 5 MPH (or up to the next increment of 5 MPH)
- The VWCC just always went up to the next 5 MPH increment when you pressed it up.. PULLING it caused a 1 MPH change

It works 1 mph with a light push and 5 mph with hard "clicky" push for me on my '18.
Give it a bit more push, there is a bit of a resistance, then it clicks to go up by 5, it's a 2-stage stalk.

...and... if you hold the "hard push" position, it will continually increment by 5 until you let go. Once you get used to the two different pressures, it is very easy to control.

Thank you all for the tips. After reading, I realized that I may have read that in the manual... Just tried it today and IT WORKS!
Click up or down, change speed by 1MPH, click past the initial detent, and it changes by 5MPH. AMAZING

Minor quibble: it goes to the next increment which is divisible by 5. So if you're set at 61, it will jump to 65 not 66 mph.
