Never thought I'd say this about a German car but this AC blows a lot of air. So, over the years I have gotten used to setting the AC on Auto and let it do its thing, and in my MB and BMW it works very well as they adjust air flow according to the cabin temp. But in the Q7 it seems the air is always blowing...a LOT! Even when the Q cools down, the air is still at a high setting and get cold. Even if I turn the temp to 76 (usually set to 74), the air blower doesnt slow down much. In my BMW I can adjust the fan speed even when on Auto mode, but that doesnt seem to be the case in the Q. Also the air vents are loud!

Is there any way to adjust fan speed even in Auto? Thanks!

you think Q7 vents are loud..... wait till you sit in a volvo xc90.... that is why we got the Q7...we loved tbe volvo but the AC vents were horrendous. Wouldnt know about other brands though. I am satisfied with Q7 AC so can not help you.

If you have the 4 Zone Climate Control check to make sure both front zones are in Auto Mode.

I noticed my wife would accidentally turn off auto for her side when changing the temperature.

Glad to hear this. A weak point for 1st Gen Q7 is weak A/C.

I have read this often, but our 2011 with the hot weather package and rear cooling unit has never seemed deficient in AC capacity.
And we are in Alabama. We KNOW :-)

I've never been fully satisfied with the A/C here in the desert of Albuquerque. It always seems to struggle to keep the interior at acceptable temp in the summer.

I totally agree! It doesn't go slow enough... it gets cold.
