Default Dipstick for 3.0T CREC?

Is there a confirmed dipstick that will work for the 3.0T CREC (2018 Q7) engine? I came across one post indicating PN# 06E115611H, but I wasn't sure which engine they had.

This is all I could find. I know there is a dummy plug used where a dipstick would go since the oil level is read through the MMI.

I’ve seen it. It is black and on the passenger side towards the rear of the supercharger. It may be a dummy one to cap the dipstick.

Audi apparently designed the 3.0 TFSI CREC engine without a dipstick on purpose. I purchased the dipstick for the previous 3.0 TFSI engine but it does not reflect what the MMI says for my 3.0 TFSI CREC engine. I created the picture below with info in the documentation I have on this engine.

Are we talking about the same thing? The "plug" that I've seen is towards the front of the engine, on the driver's side, quite visible after removal of the air filter cover.

Thanks for this information. This is disappointing given that these engines are notorious for oil consumption, and the MMI readout is inconsistent at best.

You are correct. It’s on the driver side. Don’t know if it’s functional or a dummy

Yep, I've used this to do an oil change as soon as I got the vehicle. I did it using the extraction method which made it super simple. It felt like a straight shot down when I was inserting the extraction tube, but the diagram that @kelisko posted shows a bend in the tube. Perhaps it is very mild, so I couldn't feel it.

I did find one part on AliExpress that might work. Ultimately, it could be any dipstick provided that it has the correct length.

FWIW: looking up the part number for the oil dipstick tube (06E115360B), crosses it to a bunch of other vehicles (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-...15630b#fitment), so perhaps a dipstick that works for those will work here???

Surprised that nobody else with the CREC engine has a confirmed solution.

I purchased the one for the previous 3.0T engine and I am using it. It fits but like I said, it does not reflect what the MMI says. When the MMI says it's full, the oil level on the dipstick is on top of the small ball on the dipstick, way above the MAX marking. You can use this to determine the level. I use this method if I don't feel like checking the oil level with the MMI. I just make sure the oil level stays between the MAX marking and the top of small ball.

Below is a shot of the dipstick with the MMI saying I need to add 1 quart. As you can see, it's at the MAX on the dipstick
