Default Heated Side Mirrors

As with many of you, dealing with temperatures between -10 and 10F this week in the Northeast.

I'm stumbling on how to turn on the heated side mirrors. In my Infiniti, they would come on automatically when you turned on your rear defroster.

Is the way to do this on the Q7 by turning on the FRONT defrosting on MAX? I'm kinda bummed because i dont necessary need the front defroster on blowing out tons of air volume, but only want the side mirrors (and usually read mirrors) to do so.

It is on the mirror adjustment ****.

I have 2018 Prestige. Assume it is the same on 2107.

Check your car manual.

Gah, I knew this. Dangit. Thanks.

p.s. the manual says nothing about this, except if you look in the section for mirror adjustment.

BTW due to design decision, since you can leave the **** in the heated mirror position for extended period of time, the heated mirrors function only works below certain outside temperature. Previous vehicles I owned, had a push button to activate heating function that would automatically go off after a period of time. That would allow to turn the heating function on to remove condensation during humid summer day, unfortunately you can't do that in Q7.

Does anyone know the criteria that trigger heated mirrors? I've had several times where I drove from a cool garage to a warm humid exterior and the mirrors fogged over. Can be mid 50's in the garage and 65 on the street. I'm in Houston so not uncommon.

Hmmm... mine worked the other day above 65 degrees when I had foggy mirrors... but I also had the defroster turned on inside the car. Maybe if you do both it works outside even if warmer?
