Saw this too. I was on the fence about activating this service on our (new to us) 18 Q7 Prestige. This pushed me to the NOPE side.

Got the same email :-(
Remote Lock/Unlock and Status check features are really useful.
Don't we have 4G hardware in this car? Do we know if there will be a hardware upgrade available?

Dealing with the same BS with my S5 cabriolet too. Not a good way to handle it by Audi. I would like to know what they are going to do before they just tell us all this stuff isn't going to work. Shouldn't the engineers be designing a solution before telling everyone there is a problem?

I'm sure in their mind this is not a problem. Audi is simply exercising their option to discontinue any service at any time. Yeah, it sucks.

On my 2017 Q7 I lost Satellite view and now this. Both of these were great technologies and now gone due to poor planning by Audi.

If you plan on keeping the car long term get remote start. You can get it installed for $500-800 and then it is $40 a year for smartphone lock, unlock, and you get remote start. No brainer to me.
