Default iPhone Bluetooth/CarPlay Problems

I updated to the latest iPhone OS a week ago (day it came out) and have had no perceptible issues.

Yesterday, out of the blue, when plugging my phone in via USB to activate Car Play so that I could listen to Spotify and a podcasting app, the sound only came from the front speakers -- possibly only one of them or perhaps both tweeters. Sounded very much like an old mono radio from decades ago. I unplugged and replugged in to no avail. I then tried bluetooth mode and the same thing happened.

I switched to SiriusXM and the speakers worked as expected.

I rebooted the MMI and the phone but the problem continues. I verified on the phone that it was outputting to Audi MMI.

Anyone ever experienced this?

Have you tried like a bluetooth headphones or speakers to see if you are getting that issue? I got the update as well, but no impact on sound quality.

It was also an issue with Bluetooth, suggesting something other than the cable.

However, on the drive home this afternoon, both bluetooth and the cable worked as normal. So not sure what's changed. Will see tomorrow if the problem resurfaces.

Thanks everyone.
