Default Mirrors "upgrade"

My mirrors got "upgraded" outside my house by third persons in less than one minute time.
Bad thing is, that to "downgrade" them back to initial state it will cost me around 450$ x 2 = 900$ + repair costs.
I had both side mirrors aspherical, heated with dimming function (4M0857535E and 4M0857536E). There is more than 10 possible mirror glass choices, flat, convex, aspherical, heated, dimming, all possible combinations in price range from 50$ to 450$.
You can buy in ebay for around 150$ stolen ones, or order 450$ new.
So my recommendation is, never buy mirror glasses from countries like Latvia, Lithuania or Romania, they are 100% stolen ones.

I don't know the fate of my original mirrors, maybe someone who stole them are trying or will be trying to sell them via ebay to other Q7 or new Q5 owner with stolen mirrors.

Was at dealership. Repair of mirrors will cost around $2000 (incl. all possible discounts)
There are optical cables that are torn. Audi don't offer possibility to order those cables separately. So they have to be ordered together with mirror as a set. (for previous Q7 model mirror cables can be ordered separately).
Cameras under the mirrors have to be re-calibrated.
And additionally, all those parts are available only in Germany warehouse.

I see you're not in the US, but would something like this be covered by insurance so you wouldn't have to pay out of pocket?

My car is under insurance. But it turned out to be a bit complicated. When I was insuring car back in last year December, insurers asked me to equip car with satellite based anti-theft system. Otherwise they will not cover car hijacking risk. But as you have to pay for this system $200 monthly fee, I evaluated risks and said, ok, lets do insurance without hijacking risk covered.
Now it turned out, that this hijacking risk includes also simple theft of car's parts, like mirrors and they refused to cover it. In fact I was shocked. So I will tomorrow terminate this insurance contract and look for other insurers.
They suck...

Just bought in ebay from Germany set of used mirrors for $600.
Dealer said they would be ok, and they will take all needed parts and repair my mirrors.
Mirrors are from sepanga blue Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI

Nice Score! I sure wish I could have gotten that color in the US.
