Hi all Q7 driver,
Since 3 weeks ago, I have started to hear some noise from within the steering wheel when I turn it. It sounds very much like something lacking lubrication. It sounds the same under various driving modes (under which steering wheel has different feedback).
Sample video here:
Does anyone have this issue? Any suggestion is much appreciated.
Background info:
- It has been 6 months since I picked up the vehicle in early April
- Odometer 4200km
- Manual adjustment for Steering Wheel (non-electric adjustment)

I have the same problem with my 2017 Q7, The steering makes squeaking sound and the front suspension also make clicking sound when driving into my driveway at slow speed, another annoying sound is when you slow down to stop, you will hear a poping sound coming from the front of the Q7, its really annoying to hear all these sounds on a 4 months old car with 4,000 miles only, The dealer is replacing the Steering Gear box assembly today

If the Q7 is similar to the A6 steering column, there's a plastic collar at the end of thel column that eventually wears and starts to rub causing the sound. It can be lubricated or replaced but in time, the sound returns. It seems to be more noticeable at certain temperatures.

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.
The Q7 is fairly new.... Do you think it's possible due to the same reason?
Regarding the plastic collar, how can I locate it for lubrication? Is it 'doable' by me?
