I just done needle sweep and lap timer off the apps also did a scan and cleared a couple of faults that were notified, I checked the history and only noted the lap timer and needle sweep.

Did you check fuses? Might have shorted something.

Can you post the long coding for module 17. Some of the more technical guys might be able to spot an issue?

This is a screenshot of mine ( long number starting 248):

That looks like the wrong module, it's 17 where the needle sweep and lap timer are changed. On my pic, it's the top entry.

Just checked my module 17 long coding value.

Original was (before needle sweep and lap timer)
248001D07C98060001A369601000400000000000

After
248501D07C98060001A369601000400000000000

Both changes affect Byte 1 - second pair of numbers

Original - 80 hex = 10000000 binary
After - 85 = 10000101 (bit 0 on the furthest right for needle sweep, bit 3 third one from the right for lap timer)

It would be interesting to see if any other bytes or bits have been flipped by using the app.

To be honest Sbsq7 I'm out of my depth here haven't a clue what all these codes and bits mean i should of just left well enough alone, don't think i will use OBDEleven again not worth the hassle but thanks again for your help 👍

Okay Andy, good luck, I hope you get it fixed. Could be unrelated and a coincidence as someone said with the fuse.

I nailed my wife's X1 iDrive last year trying to update the maps. I'd done my X5 numerous times but it completely messed it up. Just went in a cycle of start and reboot. No satnav, radio! Dealer fixed it and I denied I'd done anything even though he could see a partial failed upgrade He got me back by restoring it to the oldest map version possible though!

Might be worth posting your long code before and after for module 17 in case I or others can see a change to an additional byte?

I would have expected using their app to be a safer option as opposed to the coding so bit worrying if that's what did it.

Also a reminder to self to always take a backup of each module before making changes - not always done so but did all the ones I could access back in November.
