Possible TDI Q7 for 2018?
Hey all,
Was looking at the Q7's tech specs and came upon this. The fuel MPG has "TBD" next to it, and there is a section for the AdBlue capacity which is labeled "N/A". Wondering what this means... Possible TDI Q7?
Let me know what you all think this means. Could this be a simple mistake/glitch with the website? Could there be a TDI Q7 coming to the states? Or could the gas mileage for the Q7 be changing like it did with the new A4 and A5?
Matt

3.0 TFSI indicates fuel injected GASOLINE engine
N/A - stands for Not Applicable
In this case it simply means that 2018 engine didn't go through official testing to determine fuel efficiency. Yes, it's the same engine as 2017, however EPA requires testing between model years, so Audi can't just simply paste the numbers from last year until 2018 is fully tested. Sometimes EPA will change how the tests are performed resulting in different MPGs for the same engine between different model years.
The messaging coming from VW/Audi/Porsche is a bit confusing. VW made it very clear, no diesel for US at least not until 2018/19 or possibly ever, Audi a possibility - although no immediate timeline, and only TDI V6 is being considered, not SQ7's TDI V8, Porsche is planning new diesel vehicles for 2018/19 global lineup, however it appears that they maybe left out from USA market. Overall, it seams that the entire VW group is moving in the direction of hybrids and small petrol engines.

There is no Diesel coming for the Q7, unless they happen to allow the SQ7 - and no determination has been made at this point

I asked when I bought my Q7 this last Saturday. The salesman says that he doubt we will see a diesel model for at least a couple of years. He said we may never see one after the VW/Diesel mess.
