Default Q7 vs BMW X7

I am wondering how many Q7 owners have cross shopped the BMW X7 and what were your thoughts?

Apart from the aesthetics and styling, the biggest factor for me was how much of the 3rd row will be used. The X7 has adult size third row, while the Q7 is more suited for kids/small adults. Apart from that both are luxurious comfortable cruisers.

As it stands right now, The X7 will be replacing my Q7 once my lease ends in February. When I got the Q7, there was no competition. Now, the X7 is the superior vehicle. Don't get me wrong, the Audi is still a dream to drive but the entire package on the BMW (incl. lease-deals) is just better.

And yes, I'll finally get my remote-start!

The X7 is also about 20% higher in price so it better be a better vehicle. I have no doubt that if Audi developed a mythical Q9 for a starting price of 80k that can go as high as 120k as the X7 is, it would be on the same par or better than the X7. Not knocking BMW, as I own one (motorcycle) and also think the X7 is impressive, but it's all relative to price point.

X7 is massive in comparison, similar to the GLS and in price as well. The Q7 is like a little MDX. I don’t love the BMW’s looks, but I love everything it offers. Better interior, remote start, more powertrains, more power...

The Q7 is much closer to the X5. I like the X5 a lot, but availability of cars with the features I wanted seemed to be impossible for the salesperson to find.

I will check the 2020 Q7 before jumping on the X7. I have an X5 and I am reluctant to get a bigger X5. I am hoping the 2020 Q7 will be better.

Pricing SEEMS to be the Q7's advantage - but not when you're leasing. As it stands right now, the same monthly payment on my $88K Q7 gets me into a $108K X7.
