Thank you for mapping out the wires. I will do this soon as mine is delivered.

I was able to use the pictures to MirrorTap my V1. I used a Blendmount for my installation. Works great. The only annoyance is when the radar detector turns off and on with engine stop at lights. Other than that, I've had no problems

You need a brown out booster or BOB which is sold by Valentine. The V1 detector turns off and on because of a voltage drop during engine restarts. The BOB costs about $25 and plugs in in series with your power source and detector.

Just code out the start stop engine function.

I don't mind the start/stop. I don't use my detector in town enough to bother with coding, or even more stuff sold by Valentine. It's just an annoyance, but only when I forget to turn off the detector in city situations.

This worked on our 2019 Q7. The cover plate was beige/white, but colors matched and Valentine 1 Gen 2 fired right up. I had to take the bottom mirror housing loose to get to the plug, however.

Thanks to all who posted this. I just completed an Install on an Audi SQ7 2022 - seriously took about 20 minutes in total.
I did NOT need to remove the second cover.
I used the amazon (3 connector pack) and not the MirrorTap. I had both but the smallest pins in the Amazon package slid in easily. The MirrorTap pins are slightly larger and won't slide in (so much mroe work)

Installed a Uniden R8. Originally planned to use a blendmount but found it hung down too far for me (I'm tall). A good product but eventually I settled on the Uniden R8 mount included with it. If that fails over time (suction cup) I plan to use a 3M adhesive mount ($10 on ebay)

Thanks again to all and hope this extra info helps
