Maybe Volvo just designed their structure in a way where it is designed to have the car "glance" off of the object. Every Volvo tested performs in the same manner.

Yes but the structure strength of the Volvo was not tested. I know it aced the test, but still dont know how strong the structures are a partial impact, sort of the point of the test.

I had the Pre-sense restricted message come up while driving and then it cleared up after awhile. Hasn't come back.

Not sure. Could bright sunlight or reflections temporarily blind it?

Kind of. Page 120. It doesn't mention direct sunlight, but it refers to reflections that can be caused by things like guard rails, tunnel entrances, rain, etc.
