Default Should I close the deal with 3% off MSRP?

A dealer in Los Angeles give me 3% off (roughly $2000) MSRP on the Prestige.

I heard people got 6% off with supplier program, but it ended. I knew the dealer got 2% rebate from Audi, so technically dealer should be able to do with 4% off.

So I started off with asking for 6%. They said no way, and offered 2% off. So I was like .. hmm ... that's too little. How about 4.5%?
Dealer: naa 2.75%
Me: 3.75%
Dealer: 3% final

Should I get it?

It depends on your area, but that's not a great discount, but an acceptable one.

I just got 6% off yesterday from a dealer in LA. I wouldn't take anything less if I was in your shoes.

I received just about 5% off at a dealership in the Bay Area. Oakland Audi offered us 1k above dealer invoice and San Jose Audi matched that on a factory order.

Check out TrueCar.com to see what price you would pay for it in your area. National average is a few hundred off MSRP.

Truecar.com is a ripoff. Never believe what they say. One will possibly get the worst deal if he goes by truecar.

This is not always true. True car is great for high volume vehicles with a lot of sales data (Toyota's, Honda's, etc). Not so great with brand new models like the Q7.

True car is a dealer subscription program - so read this as you will or between the lines...

TC said the Q7 was 2.2% for my area, 1st dealer I visited gave me 3%, last dealer gave me 4.6% and was not a TC subscriber...

I use True Car as a data point, typically a starting point. I then move onto forums and follow that up with dealer negotiations. Using those steps have always yield great savings, including 6% off my Q7.
