I doubt steel tarriffs will make much difference. If anything they'll push US manufacturers prices higher and make German car imports more attractive.

I doubt tarriffs will happen on imported cars because all hell will break loose in a trade war if that happens.

That’s what’s happening next. The war has started and consumers are about to get screwed.

Exactly.

These days, there is no such thing as domestic and imported vehicles.

Even if you buy a Jeep, you buy a vehicle that is assembled in the US but the parts come from all over the globe. So will there be tariffs on these vehicles, too?

In the 21st century, no country on this earth can be a successful global player by going 'all domestic'.

I smell BS but who knows: Trump to impose total ban on luxury German cars: report | TheHill

Tariffs are moronic at best, bans even worse. The only people who get hurt are consumers.

everybody can breathe easy because nobody is banning any german cars from US imports. Everyone aside from Audi has factories in the states anyway so good luck banning that. This is just a punch first negotiate later approach, which i don't disagree with but i won't go off topic. We pay 10% to import cars to europe and they pay 2.5%. Fair? No. Does EU want to negotiate ? Nope

That's why the tariffs went into place. It will be interesting what happens next. Worst case i see price of cars going up in general, but it's short term until the US can re-establish that industry state side. Or until the hard headed beaurocrats in the EU/Canada/Mexico are willing to compromise on a new trade deal

Look on the bright side everyone. If the tariffs on german cars jump to 10%, you just got 10% on a european delivery vehicle

If only we can get some decent lease numbers from Audi. I like the Q7 much better than the XC90 but the Volvo has much better rates.
