No reason to to that, you only tapped into 12V dc. I've done the same on my cars and was never a concern when bringing in for warrantee service.

Now, if your auto dim mirror stops working or you have some other electrical issue I'd say there's no reason to give them bait.

Thanks, I took the radar detector off since they said it would take a week for them to do the service and address the recall issues. I was ready to leave it there if it was just a day or two.

I live in Wisconsin and I have to mount my detector by mechanical means.
A little pricey, but I love the mounts from Blendmount. They work extremely well. Check it out here:

I used one on my last Infiniti, and then when I got my Q7, bought a new one for it. Its there pretty much for good unless I unclip it.

I used the MirrorTap wiring harness and the standard suction mount on all my cars as I don't like how the BlendMount hangs down so low. I prefer to keep my radar detectors (Valentine One) up high where they aren't noticeable.

Hi Lapi, could you let me know how to remove rear view mirror cover to install mirror tap wire? Thank you

Here's a good install guide for installing the mirrortap:

If you have the correct mirrortap, you won't need to modify the cable like in this post though.

In addition to the above linked thread, look at this one as well. It shows what you actually need to do to get it out. Thanks to ktf254.

Hey, how does the upper fuse box (driver's side door) come off? Is it just snapped into place?
