I have ongoing problems with the motor in my 83 UrQ and I have a chance to buy an 84 5000 Turbo. Will the motor swap be possible and simple?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

I would hold out for an MC engine from a later 5000.
I have an MC from an '87, and it's a great engine.
It has a knock sensor, watercooled turbo, hydraulic lifters, higher compression, and more stock HP.
They are plentiful, and cheap.

...it's a good idea to upgrade to a water cooled turbo. It will last longer. Swaps pretty easy may need to modify some stuff but plenty of guys have done it before.

After all that work on the URQ motor.
What problems are still occuring? Seems like you've replace everything but the block internals like the crank, bearing, etc.
You did the head already, new CIS parts, new ignition parts.. Not much left.
