Condensation build under the wrap, and it literally rots the header apart. A lot of people blame header wrap for killing headers. While this is true, usually it is bare stainless that will deteriorate really quickly with wrap. SS321 and SS319 does better than 304 and 308.

Lots of Subaru guys wrap the boxer engine headers to try and conserve energy/heat.
