Auto Union Type C Pedal Car :: Flagship Quattro GmBH line
The Auto Union Type C pedal car is the flagship to the Audi’s Quattro GmbH line of lifestyle items and accessories. This classic 1:2 scale replica Grand Prix racecar is with an aluminum space frame, aluminum bodywork, handcrafted leather seats, hydraulic dual-disc brake, a removable steering wheel and custom-made spoked wheels.
This pedal car, which is number 17 of a limited run of 999 models, is far more than just an exclusive collector's item as it is 1 of only 2 known to have made it to the United States.
This 1:2 scale model has over 900 individual parts, each one exclusively manufactured for this highly unusual collector's car with a chain drive.
The car's body, made of aluminum sheets, was exclusively manufactured by the Audi tool making division. The designers thought of everything to ensure maximum driving pleasure for the car's young drivers (up to 135 cm tall) - 7-speed transmission with a back-pedal brake, hand brake lever with a locking function and hydraulic double disc brakes.
The prototype of the pedal car was unveiled to the public for the first time at the Paris Motor Show in autumn 2006.
The Auto Union Silver Arrow dominated the world of motor racing in 1936, racking up a total of ten Grand Prix victories.
